Can PVC Be Recycled?

Yes, PVC can be recycled! PVC windows and doors excel in a variety of ways, including thermal efficiency and longevity. These home improvement products can last between 30 to 40 years and can be recycled up to ten times, giving us around 350 years of usage. We work with our sister company VEKA Recycling, to break down old PVC products and turn them into high-quality pellets.

VEKA, our family-run company, have been producing PVC products since 1969 and are experts in providing high-quality products. We launched our recycling initiative through our sister company VEKA Compounds, to turn old and tired PVC windows and doors into brand-new products. We want to change the perception of PVC products and provide tradespeople with premium pellets.

Here at VEKA Compounds, work closely with reliable distribution resources to ensure that your order is delivered on time. Our pellet range is extremely versatile and can be used to make various products, including windows and cills. Our team can help you find the right pellet for your next project, whether residential or commercial.

Our Mission

The VEKA Group is the biggest PVC recycling company in the UK and continues to work hard to protect our planet. We aim to increase awareness of the benefits of recycling PVC products and provide recycled pellets to industry-leading extruders. We are proud to say that we have been accredited with the ISO 14001 certification.

Landfill is very damaging to the environment and can also affect our economy negatively. By opting to recycle your PVC, you can help look after our environment and boost our economy.

We supply recycled pellets as your customers will be attracted to products that are known to be eco-friendly. Despite the rigorous recycling process, you can advise your clients that their new windows and doors provide excellent thermal performance and security. So far, the VEKA Group has achieved:

– 3,000,000 tonnes of CO2 saved

Recycled PVC Pellets Process

From beginning to end, our recycling process is as environmentally friendly as possible. We offer free collection to anyone who wants to dispose of their old windows and doors. Our vehicles use low-emission diesel or LPG (liquified petroleum gas) and use routes that don’t use unnecessary routes.

Once our team collects the PVC windows and doors; they are then taken to our recycling plant. We then break down the materials into size groups and remove any metals or non-PVC products. Our advanced technology helps to remove any hardware accessories that are on the original windows and doors. We continue to break down into size groups and colours to get clean materials.

The final stage is to compress the materials down into contamination-free pellets, which we use through our melt filtration system. We have thoroughly gone through our entire operations to ensure that we are using the best recycling methods available and reducing our carbon footprint levels.
