PVC Recycling Process
We carefully plan our process to ensure that it is as environmentally friendly as possible from beginning to end. We offer free collection for tired PVC for recycling and use routes that don’t carry unnecessary time on the road. Our vehicles use low-emission diesel so that we are as sustainable as possible.
When all of the PVC for recycling has arrived at our facility, we shred all of the material into smaller pieces. This makes it easier for us to sort it into the same sizes to handle the material more efficiently. We then start to remove any metals in the windows and doors, including the handles and hinges.
Once we have gotten rid of any metals, we continue to shred and sort the material by size. We continue to do this until the material is free of any non-PVC material and is in a uniform size. By suppressing the material into smaller sizes, makes it easier for us to recycle the PVC into pellets.
Now, this is where we come in and finish the final stage of the recycling process. We use our innovative melt-filtration system to turn the PVC into pellets passed onto our approved list of extruders.
PVC Recycling Benefits
There are many reasons why recycling PVC is important. Firstly, the most important and obvious reason is the impact on the environment. As more and more waste ends up in landfill, it becomes dangerous for the planet. If it overfills, this can affect local habitats and increase pollution. If we recycle PVC windows and doors up to ten times, we can reduce a fantastic amount of waste over the years.
Not only is landfill environmentally friendly, but they can also be very costly. It costs a lot of money to maintain it over the years. If we can reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill, we can improve our economy. Using PVC for recycling is a great investment for our industry for many reasons, and we can close the loop on PVC products.
We have achieved the ISO 14:001 accreditation for environmental management. This accreditation confirms that we carry out our recycling to the highest standard and consider our environmental impact. By choosing to work with us, you can tell your customers that you work with a sustainable company.
